The midnight tears

originally written in Assamese as follows:

মাজনিশা চকুলু নুটুকিবি অ' বলিয়া নৈ
মই জানো, ভটিয়াব নোবাৰ বাবে তোৰ ইমান দূঃখ
আইৰ অসুখৰ সময়তে তোৰ বুকুয়েদি তেজ নিগৰিছিল
আইৰ চকুহাল তেতিযাৰেপৰা ৰঙা

চকুলুবোৰ সাঁচি থ হেৰ ৰূপহী নৈ
খৰালি তোৰ বুকু শুকালে
সিবোৰে আমাক আইৰ বতৰা দিব

Tried the English translation, however i'm never satisfied by my own translation:

Don't shred the midnight tears o' crazy river!
I know you're sad 'cause you cannot swim back.
Remember, you carried blood when mother was ill
Our mother's eyes have become red since!

Preserve those tears o' beautiful river!
As the winters come, as your heart becomes dry
Those tears will tell the story of our mother!
